Doran Walker
I am a healthcare executive who came up through the bedside as a registered nurse. My work now sits where AI meets the health workforce: whether an organization is ready for a tool, and what its leaders have to do for the change to hold.
I wrote AI Ready and developed its readiness assessment because hospitals were signing AI contracts with no way to measure whether their staff, workflows, or boards could absorb them. Both are built on a verified evidence base of more than 100 sources. The assessment is in Delphi validation now, which is why the first three clients get founding terms.
The method underneath is my own research. As an EXTRA Fellow with Healthcare Excellence Canada, I led the Healing Hospitals study on two older-adult rehabilitation units I was accountable for. It showed that patient experience and staff engagement are one problem, driven by local leadership behaviour, and it is now cited in national policy and in the 2026 refresh of LEADS in a Caring Environment.
I founded BioMD Consulting in 2016. Outside of work I coach youth soccer, run a youth skateboard club, and write.
