Doran Walker is a healthcare executive, registered nurse, and principal of BioMD Consulting. He is the author of AI Ready, a family of offers for the human side of AI in health, led the Healing Hospitals study now cited in national leadership frameworks, and chairs the CCHL Northern Alberta Chapter.
Long bio (150 words)
Doran Walker is a healthcare executive and registered nurse, and the principal of BioMD Consulting, the practice he founded in 2016. His work sits at the point where AI meets the health workforce: he is the author of AI Ready, a family of four offers spanning a readiness assessment, frontline fluency, leadership certification, and board governance. As an EXTRA Fellow with Healthcare Excellence Canada he led the Healing Hospitals study, which showed that patient experience and staff engagement are one problem driven by local leadership behaviour. The work has been cited in The Hill Times, adopted as the evidence base for a provincial nurse leadership certification, distributed to more than 40 national health partners through CHLNet, and built into a provincial health authority's manager training. He is a contributor to the 2026 refresh of LEADS in a Caring Environment, chairs the Northern Alberta Chapter of the Canadian College of Health Leaders, and sits on the board of the Alberta Association of Nurses. His current work is the human side of AI adoption in health. BioMD Consulting's line is "Change that holds."
